Meet the Founder:
Mama Georgette
Miraculously rescued in 1998 from the bloody ethnic cleansing in Central Africa, Georgette promised the Lord that she would dedicate the remainder of her life to serving His children. For this reason, Georgette returned to Burundi in 2007. The hopelessness and misery she witnessed were overwhelming. She wondered what a “poor, old widow” like herself could do. “Is it possible to perform a work of reconciliation in Burundi when I have no money, no resources?”
Journey of Faith and Compassion
By faith, she hatched a plan. She offered educational and vocational scholarships for teenage girls, many of whom were rescued from sexual exploit. Though she did not know from where the money would come, she believed that the Lord would provide, and He did—through the generosity of a friend in the US.
Transforming Lives in Burundi
Today, Mama Georgette continues to work tirelessly on behalf of the people of Burundi—especially its children. Her highest priority is to bring the hope and love of Jesus Christ to everyone she meets.
She is thrilled that her daughter Sandra has moved to Burundi to work alongside of her. Together, they supervise two thriving orphanages and a food program that benefits over 600 children in urgent need of nutrition assistance.
In addition, they oversee several endeavors that are income-producing, including a farm for crops and animals and a reception hall that can be rented for events. Becoming economically self-sustaining while nurturing children, training employees, and serving the elderly is of the highest priority to both Mama Georgette and Sandra.
