A special message of Thanks from Mama Georgette

As I am in Burundi, I did not celebrate Thanksgiving Day as many of you did. Instead, I have been visiting the children at the orphanage each evening to pray with thanksgiving to God for YOU. These children know that YOU are the reason that they have a second chance at life.

I give thanks to God for those who served me during the years of running a daycare out of my South St. Louis home. I thank him for the friendship and kindness you showed to me and my family--especially to my grandsons Lelis and Gad. You stopped by to pray, you delivered food for the children, you mowed the grass and cleaned the flooded basement and replaced the water heater.  You were the teachers who prepared me for this work in Burundi.

Also, I am thankful to the Lord for new friends. You care deeply about the people of Burundi, praying for them and encouraging the team here to continue serving the children and elderly, the hungry and lost. I’m thankful for your generous financial support, too. You are partners in this work; none of it would happen without your help.

Finally, I give praise and thanks to God for my family. They are very excited about Burundi Miracle Project: giving, helping, praying, and joining in this work. I never expected them to become partners, but they have. What an incredible blessing they are to me.

As you return to your duties this week after celebrating Thanksgiving, know that I am so thankful for each one of you.
